4-star LB AJ Randle's official visit to Miami could decide tight Florida recruiting battle

Four-star linebacker AJ Randle Jr. has narrowed his recruitment to six programs and locked in official visits with South Carolina, NC State, Florida, Miami, Ohio State and Georgia. The Garner, North Carolina, standout is expected to take all six trips before making a June 30 commitment, giving Miami one of the final chances to separate in the race.

In 2025, Randle put up 84 tackles, 6.5 tackles per game, one sack, one interception and three forced fumbles as a junior. He also had offensive production, finishing with 248 total yards in 13 games, including 119 rushing yards and 111 receiving yards.

Miami, Florida emerging in race for 4-star LB AJ Randle

Randle will begin his official visit schedule at South Carolina from May 1-3 before heading to NC State from May 8-10. Florida will host him from May 29-31, then Miami gets him on campus from June 5-7. Ohio State is scheduled for June 12-14, and Georgia will get the final visit from June 19-21.

Randle plays about nine miles from Raleigh, and the Wolfpack got in early with an offer, but Miami and Florida have generated buzz near the top.

Miami's 2027 class sits No. 11 nationally and No. 1 in the ACC, per the On3 Industry Rankings.

Rivals/On3 ranks him No. 96 overall, No. 6 at linebacker and as the No. 5 player in North Carolina. 247Sports has him as the No. 144 overall player and No. 8 linebacker in the 2027 class.

Randle plays safety and outside linebacker for Garner, and he is also a track athlete and basketball player. He placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles at the NCHSAA 4A state meet as a sophomore after finishing seventh in the 300-meter hurdles as a freshman. His verified track marks include a 14.83 in the 110 hurdles and a 38.22 in the 300 hurdles.
