Four-star offensive tackle Canon Pickett has reaffirmed his interest in the University of Miami by scheduling an official visit for the weekend of June 20-22, 2025. This visit shows Miami's potentially favorable position among Pickett's top choices as he narrows down his recruitment.
In a recent X post, Pickett posed with head coach Mario Cristobal. Pickett is from Tampa and attends high school at Tampa Bay Tech. Last year Tampa Bay Tech won nine games and finished as the No. 22 team in the state of Florida.
Pickett's father, Booker Pickett Sr., attended Miami and played football from 1994-96. Pickett's brother, Booker Pickett Jr., was a highly recruited Under Armour All-American, and currently plays for the Hurricanes. Pickett Jr. is an edge rusher and was a part of the 2024 recruiting cycle.
Miami is featured in Pickett's recently announced top 10 schools. Miami is among FSU, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Clemson and Florida. Standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 320 pounds, Pickett is rated as the third-best interior offensive lineman in the state of Florida. Overall, he is rated as the No. 352 overall prospect and No. 33 IOL in the 2026 cycle per On3. Reportedly, Clemson made an impression over the past weekend and is a school that is also in contention for the Miami legacy.
The Hurricanes have already gotten a fast start to the 2026 offensive line class. Ben Congdon, hailing from Mineral City, Ohio, solidified his decision to commit during a visit to Miami's campus on March 3, 2025.
Congdon is four-star recruit who has also tried his hand at recruiting other offensive lineman in his class such as five-star Jackson Cantwell. Lamar Brown, the No.1 interior offensive lineman in the country, also has Miami in his top 4 schools.
