In a significant boost to their 2026 recruiting class, the Miami Hurricanes secured a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Ben Congdon. Standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing 285 pounds, Congdon hails from Tuscarawas Valley High School in Mineral City, Ohio.
His decision to join Miami over programs such as Penn State, Indiana, Ohio State, Florida, Arkansas, Kentucky and Maryland shows the work that head coach Mario Cristobal and his staff have done during the recruiting process. He is the first OL to commit to Miami in the 2026 class and is the No. 318 ranked prospect nationally, No. 25 OT and No. 17 player in Ohio.
Congdon has quickly moved from recruit to recruiter and has now set his sights on five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell. Cantwell, a 6-foot-8, 315-pound standout from Nixa, Missouri, is among the most sought-after recruits in the 2026 class. He is down to his top six schools, which includes Miami, Oregon, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan and Missouri.
My second shot of the day. They always say iron sharpens iron. So what do you say? Come join the Canes family and let's go to battle against and for each other every day to make the Miami family able to brag about a Joe Moore award and a natty.🙌🏼🌪️🌴 https://t.co/eJ4iw1Yns8

Cantwell has scheduled a visit to Miami on March 17-18, reflecting genuine interest in the Hurricanes' program. Cristobal and the staff have also been active in recruiting on the defesive side of the ball. Currently, the Hurricanes are in contention to flip 4-star FSU commit Tedarius Hughes and Zavion Griffin-Haynes, a four-star EDGE rusher from Rolesville, North Carolina.
As the March visit approaches, Miami's coaching staff, alongside committed players like Congdon, linebacker Jordan Campbell, quarterback Dereon Coleman and cornerback Camdin Portis will aim to present a compelling case to Cantwell. Securing a commitment would solidify the Hurricanes' offensive line and help Miami's resurgence as a powerhouse in college football.
Under Cristobal, Miami has signed a top 15 class in all four recruiting cycles and that includes top 10 classes in 2022 and 2023. Per On3, Miami signed the 13th-ranked 2025 class.
