Neimann Lawrence keeps Miami in the final five
Lawrence is one of the premier quarterbacks in the 2028 class and one of the biggest local recruits on Miami's long-term board. Rivals has him No. 62 nationally and No. 6 at quarterback, while 247Sports has him No. 73 overall and No. 6 at quarterback.
Lawrence played for Ransom Everglades and Miami Northwestern before moving to American Heritage. He knows the local scene. He knows Miami. The Hurricanes have to win the football argument, not just the map.
As a freshman at Ransom Everglades, he completed 64% of his passes for 2,777 yards, 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He then transferred to Miami Northwestern for his sophomore season and completed 131 of 185 passes for 1,971 yards, 32 touchdowns and one interception.
Texas is one of the more interesting schools in the final five because of the Dia Bell connection. Lawrence has already been through a camp visit with the Longhorns, and Texas has had recent quarterback recruiting success with Arch Manning, Bell and a national offensive brand.
Notre Dame has also been pushing hard and the Aggies have already made some noise in South Florida and across the state in recent cycles.
Miami already has a 2028 quarterback committed
The Hurricanes already have a commitment from Knox Annis, a 6-foot-3 quarterback from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville.
Annis committed to Miami on April 9, only days after the Hurricanes landed 2027 quarterback Israel Abrams. 247Sports has him ranked as a three-star prospect and he holds offers from Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Tennessee, West Virginia and Pittsburgh.
