Tyree Mannings Jr., a 4-star 2028 wide receiver from Venice High School, has declared his final eight schools, and the Miami Hurricanes remain in the running. Mannings, a 6-foot, 170-pound prospect ranked as the No. 88 overall player nationally and the No. 13 wide receiver in the 247Sports Composite, listed Miami alongside Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, Oregon, Nebraska, Texas A&M and USC.

The Hurricanes were the first major Division I program to offer Mannings, so hopefully for Canes fans that makes a difference in a recruitment that still has plenty of time to simmer.
This past season at Venice, Mannings logged 84 catches for 1,429 yards. He also added 193 rushing yards on 19 carries.
Before transferring to Venice for his sophomore campaign, Mannings played for Sarasota Booker in his freshman year. Through the air he put up 35 catches, 838 yards, 7 TDs. On the ground he had 9 rushes for 280 yards and 3 TDs.
His high school rushing numbers are eye-popping and there might be a path for him to see the field early in college if a program uses him in that department.
A lot of players from the 2028 class are beginning to trim down their lists, but it's important to note that the decisions are still pretty far out in the future. For Mario Cristobal and his staff, it's all about staying in the race and showing the recruits what the Hurricanes culture is all about when they step on campus.
Many of the 2027 and 2028 prospects will be on the sidelines for Miami this season and winning those games will be important for the program in the long term. With that being said, the Florida Gators are considered to be the frontrunner as of right now.
