Four-star wide receiver Somourian Wingo says he’s "shutting [his] recruitment down," reaffirming his July pledge to Miami after entertaining some fall visits. The St. Augustine (FL) standout told a Rivals reporter (Hayes Fawcett) he’s done taking calls: "Da crib is where I belong… I’m home!! GoCanes"

Wingo, listed between 6-3 and 185 pounds, committed to Miami on July 17, choosing the Hurricanes over Florida and South Carolina after official visits to all three. Miami wide receivers coach Kevin Beard is his primary recruiter.

Wingo is a consensus four-star and a Top247 prospect. ESPN ranks him No. 149 in the ESPN 300 while On3’s Industry page reflects a national rating of No. 139. 247Sports has him as a top-150 caliber player.

As a junior in 2024, Wingo caught 65 passes for 1,040 yards and 12 touchdowns for St. Augustine, which he reached the Florida 4A semifinals. His sophomore season line was 29 catches for 531 yards and 6 TDs. Wingo also shined on the basketball court, averaging 16.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.5 assists during his junior season.

Wingo was in Gainesville on Sept. 6 for Florida–USF and visited Miami for the Notre Dame opener. Miami maintained firm traction even as the Gators kept pushing into September. Florida ended with seven visits (one official visit) while South Carolina ended with two visits (one OV). Miami was able to get it done with six visits and one OV.

Wingo becomes the third wide receiver locked into the class alongside Vance Spafford (flipped from Georgia in June) and Tyran Evans (a 6-3 target out of Hough HS, N.C.). Wingo and Spafford are both rated as 4-star recruits by On3, although Spafford is higher and is the second-highest Miami commit behind OT Jackson Cantwell. Miami currently has the No. 12 recruiting class in 2026.
