Miami's 2027 recruiting class continues to get more impressive, with five-star wide receiver Brysen Wright's commitment Thursday giving Mario Cristobal one of the most talented groups in the country.
Here are 5 facts that show just how much talent Cristobal and his staff have assembled.
1. Miami has more five-star commitments than anybody else
The Hurricanes have five 5-star commitments in the Rivals Industry Rankings, the most of any program nationally. Those five players are A'mir Sears, Jaiden Bryant, Brysen Wright, Donte Wright and Nick Lennear.
All five rank among the top 20 prospects in the country, with Sears at No. 9, Bryant at No. 10, Brysen Wright at No. 11, Donte Wright at No. 12 and Lennear at No. 20.
2. Miami has the nation's top two cornerbacks committed
Few programs can claim to have signed the country's best defensive back in a recruiting cycle, but Miami currently has verbal commitments from the top two cornerbacks.
Sears, a standout at Columbus in Miami, is the No. 1 cornerback, and Donte Wright, who plays at Long Beach Poly in California, is the No. 2 cornerback.
The Hurricanes also hold a commitment from Ai'King Hall, the No. 14 cornerback nationally, giving Miami three of the country's top 15 prospects at the position.
3. Miami has two of the nation's top four wide receivers
Brysen Wright's arrival gives Miami an outstanding receiving duo alongside Lennear, with both players ranked among the country's four best receivers.
Brysen Wright is the No. 3 receiver and No. 11 overall recruit, while Lennear checks in at No. 4 among receivers and No. 20 nationally. The Hurricanes also have a commitment from Eli Woodard, the No. 23 receiver and No. 122 overall recruit.
4. Miami has flipped commitments from four major programs
Cristobal and his staff have convinced several highly-ranked players to reverse their previous decisions.
Donte Wright originally committed to Georgia before flipping to Miami on May 9, while Hall switched his commitment from Oregon to the Hurricanes on May 17. Bryant followed on June 3, flipping from LSU and more recently, four-star linebacker Aston Whiteside flipped from Texas A&M on Oct. 21 after visiting Miami.
5. Two 5-star prospects reclassified to join Miami a year earlier
Perhaps the most unusual part of Miami's class is that two of its five-star commitments originally belonged to the 2028 recruiting cycle.
Sears made the decision to reclassify into 2027 before committing to Miami on July 31. Brysen Wright followed the same path on Thursday, announcing his commitment to Miami and his intention to join the 2027 class rather than remain in the 2028 cycle.
