Five-star edge rusher David “DJ” Jacobs (Class of 2027), has locked in a string of fall game-day visits that includes Miami on Sunday, Aug. 31 during their prime-time opener against Notre Dame. Jacobs will also visit Florida State (Aug. 30), Oregon (Sept. 6), Notre Dame (Sept. 13), Georgia (Sept. 27) and Texas A&M (Oct. 11), with LSU to be announced.

His visit comes during Miami’s largest recruiting weekend of the early season. The Hurricanes expect tons of visitors and dozens of top-100 prospects for the Notre Dame game at Hard Rock Stadium. Landing Jacobs among that group gives Miami a legitimate shot to set the tone in a race that will stretch into 2026.

Jacobs is listed at 6-5 to 6-6 and 225 pounds, with the On3 Industry Ranking slotting him No. 12 nationally, No. 3 at EDGE and No. 2 in Georgia. As a sophomore, Jacobs helped Blessed Trinity reach the Georgia 4A semifinals and was credited with 116 tackles and 11 sacks, a workload that put him on early five-star radars heading into his junior year. More recently, 247Sports highlighted him as the tone-setter in a 30–2 win over Holy Innocents’, noting how Blessed Trinity’s frontline controlled the game start to finish.

In a spring interview, Jacobs said you can “find good football everywhere” and emphasized the importance of “good people in the building” so he isn’t the kid who transfers after a year. He’s also spoken about weighing life after football and wanting coaches who “keep it real” with his family.

Georgia connections will make this recruitment a fistfight. Jacobs is a legacy with deep ties in Athens, and in-state momentum around the five-star has intensified. That makes Miami’s window even more critica. The Hurricanes will hope to make a lasting impression on a number of recruits this Sunday.
