5-star EDGE Jalanie George sets Oct. 1 decision date with Miami Hurricanes in final 4

Five-star edge rusher Jalanie George has narrowed his recruitment to four schools and set a commitment date of Thursday, Oct. 1.

The Desert Edge High School junior out of Arizona is choosing among Auburn, Miami, Washington and Wisconsin. Ohio State, Oklahoma and Florida were in an earlier group.

Rivals Industry Ranking has him No. 23 nationally, No. 6 at his position and No. 2 in his state. The 247Sports Composite has him No. 21 overall and No. 5 at the position.

Desert Edge is 3-1 this season and George has 24 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and one sack this fall. As a sophomore he had 54 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. As a freshman he had 63 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and five sacks.

He has logged a number of unofficial visits to Ole Miss, Auburn, Miami, Florida, Washington, Wisconsin and Auburn. The Washington, Wisconsin and Auburn visits were gameday trips. The Huskies played Washington State in the Apple Cup (Sept. 6), the Badgers played Western Illinois (Sept. 13) and the Tigers played Florida (Sept. 13).

The Hurricanes already have two commitments in the 2028 class: three-star quarterback Knox Annis and four-star offensive tackle Kweli Fielder. Annis, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound passer, is ranked No. 43 among quarterbacks, No. 546 nationally and No. 71 in Florida by the Rivals Industry Ranking, while 247Sports has him No. 39 at the position. Fielder, a 6-foot-4, 310-pound lineman, is ranked No. 45 nationally, No. 6 at tackle and No. 7 in Georgia by Rivals Industry Ranking. The 247Sports Composite has him ranked No. 59 overall and No. 3 among interior linemen.
