The grind has already begun for Miami football, as Mario Cristobal and his players are fired up to get back to the CFP next season. With spring ball around the corner, the guys on campus are working hard in the weight room. This includes the early enrollees who graduated from high school early.

Miami and Mario Cristobal won't back down in race to flip 5-star Ohio State commit

The list includes 5-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, who surprised plenty of people when he committed to The U over Georgia and others. Cantwell is moving around serious weight during workouts and a photo of him doing so has made its way to social media. Yeah, this is quite head-turning in the best way possible:

Yeah, that's a big fella who looks ready to take care of business against opposing pass-rushers in the future. Normally, a freshman offensive lineman redshirts for his first year on campus, but with Cantwell, things could be different there.

It would not be a surprise at all for Mario Cristobal and Alex Mirabal to decide he'll be ready to see extensive action as a true frosh. He looks the part, which is a great sign, but Cantwell will look to take things to a new level once spring ball and fall camp get here.

The Missouri product was the gem of Miami's 2026 class, signing with the Canes ranked five stars, the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country and No. 2 prospect overall per the 247Sports Composite. Cantwell chose Miami over 30 other programs.

After the fantastic campaign Miami just posted with Carson Beck running the offense, all eyes are going to be on Darrian Mensah once Week 1 arrives. However, he's not the only newcomer who is poised to make a huge difference for Cristobal and his staff. Cantwell may be just a baby-faced freshman, but he's going to be a total monster in the trenches for the Canes. His future could not be brighter for this team.
