Now that the Philadelphia Eagles ended the 2024 campaign with a Super Bowl win, the Tennessee Titans are on the clock. In a little over two months, draft night will arrive and Miami Hurricanes fans are waiting to see if quarterback Cam Ward will be taken No. 1 overall or not.
While Ward is considered the favorite to hear his name called first, there's been a lot of growing buzz surrounding Penn State pass-rusher Abdul Carter. In his return from injury in the College Football Playoff, we saw how dominant he can be.
This is something he's hoping the Titans will keep in mind, and he also wants Tennessee to remember just how much Philly's incredible defense impacted Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl. Defense wins titles, which is why Carter thinks he should be the No. 1 pick and not Ward, Travis Hunter or Shedeur Sanders:

#1 OVERALL PICK, 74 Days…♾️🤘🏾
Abdul Carter thinks he should be the No. 1 pick over Cam Ward and others
Hey, we're not going to argue with Carter, as defense indeed helps teams win it all. However, the Titans are in a tough spot. The AFC South side thought Will Levis would pan out as the franchise signal-caller for the long haul, but that experiment already looks to be over.
Tennessee could draft Carter, sign a veteran QB and then wait for the 2026 QB class. However, loads of people all over Nashville are pushing for the front office to bring in a new playmaker to lead the offense out onto the field as soon as possible.
Ward put up record-breaking numbers with Miami in his lone season with the Canes. If the Titans pass on him, Cleveland could be ready to pounce at No. 2. It would be a total shock if Ward falls below No. 3, as the Giants are in a similar boat. Carter should be a Top 3 pick and while it wouldn't be a total surprise if Tennessee goes after him, Ward feels like the smarter pick for the Titans at this time.
