Miami defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor had the second-most pressures ever in a College Football Playoff game with 11. Mesidor was part of a menacing Miami DL. Mesidor finished with five tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in the 10-3 Miami College Football Playoff first-round win at Texas A&M.
Miami generated 21 pressures, nine TFLs and seven sacks against Texas A&M. Rueben Bain paired with Mesidor to provide constant pressure that Texas A&M struggled with throughout the game. Mesidor also had a 90.2 pass rush grade and a 38 percent win rate versus Texas A&M.
Bain had seven pressures, five tackles, 4.0 TFLs, 3.0 sacks, and a blocked field goal against Texas A&M. Texas A&M had 326 total yards, but only three points in six possessions in Miami territory and three trips into the red zone.
Mesidor has 55 pressures, 51 tackles, 13.5 TFLs. 8.5 sacks and 4.0 forced fumbles in 2025. With Bain and Mesidor setting the edge, Texas A&M ran for 89 yards on 35 carries. Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed had 237 yards passing, but threw two interceptions and lost a fumble.

In its X post mentioning Mesidor recording the second most pressures in a College Football Playoff game, Pro Football Focus did not mention who is ahead of him. Mesidor has set career highs in 2025 and is potentially positioned as a likely day two pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Mesidor was fourth overall among defenders with a 79.2 PFF grade in the first round. Miami defensive back Bryce Fitzgerald led all defenders in the first round with an 85.6 grade. Miami defensive tackle David Blay was the only other Hurricane in the top 10 with a 78.1 overall PFF grade.
Bain somehow did not make the top 10 in the CFP first round, but he was tied for first nationally among edge rushers with David Bailey of Texas Tech receiving a 93.0 PFF grade. Bain was the only Power Four edge rusher with a top 10 run and pass rush PFF grade.
