The Miami Hurricanes offense was humming in their 45-6 win over Stanford in Week 1 and improved to 5-0 in season openers under Mario Cristobal. Both Darian Mensah and Malachi Toney had Heisman-worthy performances in the victory and the Hurricanes took their first step to what is expected to be a journey to another appearance in the College Football Playoff.
But where should Miami be ranked this week.when 24 of the top 25 teams win? And the only team in the polls that lost, No. 24 Louisville, was beaten on a game-ending field goal against No. 9 Ole Miss. That's a lot of chalk and not a lot of reason for movement, outside of a few exceptions
Will the pollsters give us a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup in Week 2?
Ohio State is going to stay at the top of the poll and there's no reason to move No. 3 Georgia or No. 4 Notre Dame down after dominant victories against overmatched opponents. No. 2 Oregon had a test against a Boise State team that was probably undervalued and is a legitimate threat to be the G6 representative in the CFP.

That's a pretty significant dip for Oregon, but it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. The Ducks will have plenty of time to make that up. Texas jumps Notre Dame, but I don't think they could justifiably jump Georgia, so we end up with a No. 1 vs. No. 3 showdown in Austin. Indiana and Miami moved up, Ole Miss will get rewarded for the Top 25 win and LSU shot up by completely destroying a Clemson team that was expected to at least have a pulse.

13. USC Trojans, 39-0 win over Fresno State
14. Texas Tech Red Raiders, 33-10 win over Abilene Christian
15. BYU Cougars, 63-7 win over Utah Tech
Oklahoma was kind of punished by circumstances. The Sooners didn't do anything wrong, but LSU was just that good against a presumably much better opponent. USC also jumps a couple of spots and the Trojans might be a legitimate threat for that final CFP at-large spot.

The Wolverines will have another chance to get back in the polls with Oklahoma coming to town, but for now they are replaced by the Gamecocks, who just edged out Pitt for the final spot in the poll. Otherwise, there are not many changes here. SMU should've scored 40 points in its win over FSU, but they kept making every mistake possible to keep that game close. There's no reason to drop Louisville out after an inspiring effort against Ole Miss.
