Miami head coach Mario Cristobal was ready for a big commitment to come on Saturday, April 25, but it seems things could be changing. Two SEC teams are making a late push for four-star running back Myson Johnson-Cook before he makes his final decision, and one team could be leading the charge.
Johnson-Cook had narrowed his choices down to Miami, Auburn, Kentucky, LSU, and Ole Miss, but it seems this is a three-school race between Miami, Auburn, and Kentucky. While it was predicted that Miami was in the driver's seat and ready to land its next big commitment, Auburn has swooped in and is making a push.
Auburn head coach Alex Golesh has welcomed Johnson-Cook for a multi-day visit, according to Rivals' Steve Wiltfong, and this isn't his first visit with the Tigers. This visit comes on the heels of a visit to Miami recently, his third one during his recruiting cycle.

247Sports has held a 100% prediction for Johnson-Cook to pick Miami, but this Auburn visit could shake things up late. Johnson-Cook is ranked as the No. 46 player in the Class of 2027, the No. 4 running back in the class, and the No. 3 player in the state of Illinois, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
If Johnson-Cook for some reason doesn't pick Miami, that doesn't mean Mario Cristobal is completely out of the race, as the young running back has an official visit scheduled for May 29. Granted, Johnson-Cook does have official visits set with Auburn and Ole Miss on June 5 and June 19 as well.
Miami fans will be anxiously awaiting the news of Johnson-Cooks commitment come Saturday when he announced his pick live on the Rivals YouTube Channel.
