Carson Beck is entering his sixth season of eligibility with the Miami Hurricanes. Beck is a proven and talented quarterback, who transferred from the University of Georgia to the University of Miami, in early January of 2025. He led the Bulldogs to a lop-sided victory over the Florida State Seminoles in the 2023 Orange Bowl. This game is still a record for the largest margin of victory in an FBS Bowl game.

The six-foot four, two-hundred-and-twenty-pound quarterback has the measurables, but can Beck lead the Miami hurricanes to the College Football Playoffs? Since the NCAA went to the college playoff format in 2014, the Miami Hurricanes have never been a participant. Enter Carson Beck, who has valuable experience in the college football tournament. The Jacksonville, Florida native has a chance to lead the Miami Hurricanes in his last season of playing college football to "waters" no current or former Hurricane team have been able to accomplish.

Last season, the Hurricanes were on the outside looking in, when the team was unable to qualify for both the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship and the College Football Playoff. Although Carson Beck could potentially assist the Canes into unchartered territory, he alone, cannot become a "one-man show", which has proven not to produce championship results for many sports teams and organizations in various team-related sports.

When you think about the Miami Hurricanes football history, names such as, Kosar, Testaverde, Walsh, Torretta, and Dorsey come to mind. All five former Hurricane quarterbacks had a huge impact regarding the Miami Hurricanes being able to compete for and win five national titles. Does Carson Beck have a chance to parallel or eclipse the five starting quarterbacks, whom were a part of the Canes' collegiate success? Of course he does.

After sustaining an elbow injury in the 2024 SEC Championship game against number two, Texas Longhorns, Beck contemplated entering into the 2024 NFL draft but decided to bet on himself in becoming a highly touted NFL prospect. Currently, Beck has the ability to help change the recent narrative of the Miami Hurricanes program. Time will tell at the end of this promising 2025 season, if Beck could also have his name amongst the stellar quarterbacks of Hurricanes past.
