This has been one of those weeks for Carson Beck to ignore the outside noise.

Beck, who is still reeling from throwing four interceptions last Friday in a stunning 24-21 home loss to Louisville, had to fight off claims that he threw he blamed his teammate, wide receiver Elija Lofton, for running the wrong play on his final interception. The fifth-year senior quarterback decided to clear the air during his press conference with the local media.

"I was never throwing him under the bus. When asked the question I was asked about what happened on the last play, I think if you go watch the whole clip of what happened, you can go look at what I said," Beck explained. "But again, the interception is one me. I'm ultimately the guy with the ball in his hands at the end, so I have to take accountability for that. I think people can take things out of context sometimes and that's not at all what I was doing."

Were Beck's original comments out of line?

That depends on the context. It was a 25-second clip of a six-minute media session. He mentioned that there were some miscommunications on the routes before he gave the answer that was widely shared, so there's some missing context there and, naturally, all the pundits jumped on the clip they heard and probably didn't bother to dig out any more information.

Whatever it was, it's best for Beck and the rest of the Miami offense to move on. The Hurricanes are a big favorite at home against Stanford this week, and it's a good opportunity for Beck to clean up his game and Miami to get back to winning the line of scrimmage....something they did not do against Louisville.

It was a good thing for Beck to try to clear the air and reiterate that the turnovers last Friday were ultimately his fault.

"I didn't play my best. Honestly, I had a terrible game, and that's a huge part of why we lost. I have to live with that. I have to take that," Beck concluded.
