It's all about The U. Yup, you don't have to tell that to new Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck, as he's fired up to get his career with the Canes going. A day after announcing he was entering the portal and leaving Georgia, Beck put the pen to paper with Miami.
The decision was a pretty simple one for him. Not only is he going to take over the offense for Cam Ward, the projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but Beck is also going to be in a prime spot to help get the Canes to the College Football Playoff next winter.
As for his personal life, he's also reunited with his girlfriend on campus. Indeed, Beck has been dating Miami women's basketball player Hanna Cavinder, who is also quite happy with Beck's latest decision. Over the weekend, she posted a clip of the two celebrating his transfer decision in style:
Carson Beck and Hanna Cavinder tossed up 'The U' to celebrate his Miami signing
Again, it's all about the U. Beck couldn't help but laugh at the end of the clip and you know Cavinder couldn't be happier that her BF is now the talk of the town, ready to put on a show for the Miami football team and Mario Cristobal.
Originally, Beck was planning to enter the NFL Draft, but after landing a reported $4 million NIL deal to play for the Canes, he decided to push back his pro career. Some people are bashing Beck for only picking Miami because of Cavinder, but keep in mind that she's out of eligibility after this season and won't be suiting up for the Canes WBB squad next campaign.
Beck's decision to play for Miami came down to the history of the program, plus him being able to join a national contender. Beck is still recovering from UCL surgery, so the expectation is he won't be able to participate in spring ball. Once fall camp gets here, however, he will look to get Miami fans even more excited than they are now.
