Carson Beck could only watch on Thursday night as the Arizona Cardinals offense exploded and all of the QBs got in on the fun.
Beck was looking to build off of the momentum from throwing for 188 yards and a touchdown in his NFL debut. But a minor rib injury kept the former Miami quarterback out of Arizona's 27-14 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
With Beck unavailable, Jacoby Brissett, Gardner Minshew II and Kedon Slovis combined to complete 26 of 30 passes for 220 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions (86.7% completion rate from the quarterback room).

Carson Beck was forced to sit as every Cardinals quarterback kept rolling
Beck's performance against Carolina had started some legitimate chatter about whether Arizona should accelerate its timeline with the third-round rookie. Even though Arizona wasn't exactly going to say out loud that they were heading in that direction, the vibes were high around the backup QB.
As of now, Brissett remains expected to open the season as the starter after agreeing to a reworked one-year contract worth $15.5 million. He played one series and completed all five of his passes for 44 yards, finishing the possession with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Marvin Harrison Jr.
Minshew's performance also could complicate things and keep Beck at the No. 3 QB slot depending on how the rest of the preseason plays out. He threw for 101 yards and two touchdowns, with an 87.5% completion rate and a 132.6 passer rating. He threw touchdown passes to Simi Fehoko and Jalen Brooks while handling most of Arizona's quarterback work after Brissett left.
Slovis also got in on the fun, going 7 of 9 for 75 yards with a 101.4 passer rating. He did not throw a touchdown, but Arizona still received efficient quarterback play from the top to the bottom of the available depth chart.
Looking ahead, Beck's rib issue is considered minor, so he should play in the Cardinals' next preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys. The hit that caused the injury came late in the second quarter against Carolina, and he stayed in the game well into the third quarter and did not miss practice during the week.
