The Cardinals selected Carson Beck with the No. 65 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, bringing the former Miami quarterback back to State Farm Stadium after one of the defining games of his college career.
It's where Beck scrambled for a 3-yard touchdown with 18 seconds left to beat Ole Miss 31-27 in the College Football Playoff semifinal and send Miami to the national championship game. Now he returns to Glendale as something different: a third-round pick walking into a quarterback room with no long-term answer.Â

Carson Beck's Arizona story started before the Cardinals drafted him
The Rebels led 27-24 with a little more than three minutes left and then Beck took Miami 75 yards in 15 plays and finished the game himself.Â
Beck threw for 268 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in that game. He hit Keelan Marion for a 52-yard touchdown before halftime and Malachi Toney for a 36-yard score in the fourth quarter. For the final play of the winning drive, Beck ran it in from 3 yards out to give Miami a 31-27 lead with 18 seconds remaining.Â
Arizona's QB room gives Beck an opportunity early
Arizona moved on from Kyler Murray in March, then entered the draft with Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew as its veteran options. Beck now joins that group as the youngest quarterback in the room. Beck made 43 college starts and threw for 3,813 yards with 30 touchdowns during Miami's 2025 season.Â
The current expectation has Brissett ahead of Minshew, Beck and Kedon Slovis, with Beck needing to earn his way up the depth chart. But, Brissett's contract situation could give Beck valuable offseason reps if it continues.Â
The Cardinals offense should offer support around whoever ends up starting at QB. Arizona took Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love at No. 3, then Texas A&M guard Chase Bisontis at No. 34 before selecting Beck at No. 65. The Cardinals also already have Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson in the passing game.
