Miami quarterback Carson Beck told the media gathered at ACC Kickoff that transferring from Georgia "is one of the better decisions I've made." Beck stated the chemistry he is building with the offense reinforced his decision to transfer to Miami.

Beck transferred to Miami after five seasons at Georgia that included a 24-3 record as a starter in the last two seasons. After Beck threw nine of his 12 2024 interceptions during a four-game midseason stretch, he began receiving a lot of criticism and skepticism.

Beck also stated in his appearance in front of the media that the offensive fit and scheme were a major reason he transferred to Miami. The addition of Beck gives Miami arguably the top transfer QB for the second straight season after Miami added eventual 2024 Heisman Trophy finalist Cam Ward last season.

The future for Beck is with Miami. Beck joins a Miami offense that was first nationally, averaging 42.9 points per game and 537.2 total yards in 2024. In addition to Beck replacing Ward, Miami lost its top six receivers from the 2024 team. Miami will look very different offensively in 2025.

"This is my future, and I think that this decision is one of the better decisions I've made, and since I've been here in January...Ultimately the decision, I feel like, has really paid off, and this off-season has been really good and full of good work."

After being projected as the potential top overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the inconsistent 2024 season had Beck drop on most mock drafts. Beck transferring to Miami will allow him a chance to work with Miami offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson.

Dawson helped Ward develop into the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after being projected in the second round or later before he transferred to Miami. The hope for Beck is to have a great season and be picked high in the 2026 NFL Draft to further cement his decision to transfer to Miami was the correct one.
