Carson Beck has the third-highest career grade from Pro Football Focus among transfer quarterbacks. Mark Gronowski who transferred from South Dakota State to Iowa and Preston Stone who is at Northwestern from SMU are the only two transfers with higher PFF grades during their careers than Beck.
The numbers for Beck are more impressive with the majority of his games coming against SEC opponents. Gronowski is moving up from the Football Championship Subdivision level to the Big 10. Stone played most of his games at SMU in the American Athletic Confernence before the Mustangs moved up to the ACC in 2024.
Beck has completed 68.0 percent of his career pass attempts for 7,912 yards, 58 touchdowns, 20 interceptions, a 2.2 interception percentage, 8.6 yards per attempt, 202.9 yards per game and a 156.4 career passer rating. Georgia was 24-3 in games Beck started.
Gronowski has completed 63.5 percent of his career pass attempts for 10,330 yards, 8.7 YPA, 93 TDs, 20 interceptions, a 158.9 passer rating and 385 carries for 1,767 yards, 4.6 yards per carry and 37 TDs. Iowa in 2022 and Oklahoma State in 2024 are the only games Granowski played against FBS opponents.

Granowski completed 10 passes in 26 attempts for 87 yards without a TD or interception against Iowa. In the 2024 game versus Oklahoma State, Granowski was 20-37 for 264 yards, with two TDs and one interception, and 10 carries for 17 yards. South Dakota State was the 2023 FCS Champion and 2024 runner-up.
Stone completed 59.3 percent of his pass attempts for 4,030 yards, 35 TDs, a 7.8 TD percentage, eight interceptions, a 1.8 interception percentage, 9.0 YPA, 143.9 YGS and a 156.7 passer rating with 88 carries for 287 yards and six scores. SMU was 13-3 with Stone as the starting QB.
Beck, Granowski and Stone represent three completely different paths. Beck started at the highest level of college football playing five seasons at Georgia before transferring to Miami. Stone transferred to Northwestern after losing his starting position to Kevin Jennings and Granowski is making a signfiicant move up in competition.
