On3/Rivals Vice President, National College Football Recruiting and Transfer Portal Steve Wiltfong is one of multiple analysts to put in predictions for three-star linebacker Karsten Busch to sign with Miami on Wednesday.
The Early Signing Period for college football commences on Wednesday and runs through Friday. Wiltfong discussed Busch, five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell and four-star running back Amari Latimer on the Rivals YouTube page with host Josh Newberg.
Wiltfong logged a prediction for Busch to Miami after he visited the Hurricanes on Saturday, after they returned from Pittsburgh. Busch was the only visitor to Miami this weekend, per Wiltfong. Wisconsin was trending for Busch before he visited Miami.
Busch is committing live on the Rivals YouTube page on Wednesday at 4 PM, per Wiltfong. The opportunity for Busch to play early helped Miami emerge as the favorite to sign him on Wednesday. Wilfong reports Busch enjoyed his time with Miami defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman and LBs on the coaching staff.
"This guy's physically ready to play. He is explosive. He is very physical. He is a top 20 player at the position per rivals...Miami is the number eight recruiting class in the country. And if they add Karsten Busch, I think he would immediately become one of the guys that has the best chance to play as a true freshman."Steve Wiltfong, On3/Rivals
Possible Miami flip
Wiltfong called Miami a program to watch down the stretch for four-star Wisconsin running back commit Amari Latimer. Miami typically has some national signing day fireworks, as stated by Wiltfong. Wiltfong likes where Miami stands for Busch and said he would not be surprised if the Hurricanes landed Latimer.
Jackson Cantwell is solid with Miami
Newberg was impressed by the lack of drama from five-star Miami offensive tackle commit Jackson Cantwell. Newburg mentioned that Cantwell has not been a story since committing to Miami over the summer and how impressed he is with Mario Cristobal and Miami offensive line coach Alex Mirabal.
Wilffong added, "If Miami has a surprise on Wednesday, I would not be surprised. I just don't know who that's going to be now." The 2026 Miami class is eighth nationally and leads the ACC rivals rankings. Mario Cristobal is trending towards signing another top 10 class.
