As the Miami Hurricanes enter their centennial football season, ESPN’s latest 2025 ACC projections cast the Canes in the upper echelon. Using projection models, Bill Connelly will preview an FBS conference each week to predict how all 136 teams will fair next season. This time he previewed the ACC.
Miami checks in with a projected 9.7–2.8 overall record and 6.3–1.7 in conference play. That win total puts Miami firmly in second place, trailing Clemson’s similar forecast, but lagging behind the Tigers’ conference title odds as ESPN gives Clemson a roughly 34% chance, while Miami follows at about 18%.
There is upside as ESPN assigns a 46% chance of a CFP berth, 30% chance to win the ACC, and even a 4.7% chance at an undefeated regular season. The schedule also looms large and ESPN highlights three Miami games among the top five in the ACC.
Miami at Florida State
"There’s upside, to be sure. ESPN assigns a 46% chance of a CFP berth, 30% chance to win the ACC, and even a 4.7% chance at an undefeated regular season. These numbers reinforce that Miami sits on the cusp of national relevance—but with Clemson’s edge in championship probability, the true test lies in head-to-head results."Bill Connelly
Louisville at Miami
"One of the bigger Friday night games of the season. Louisville hosts Clemson in November, but the Cardinals' ACC title hopes might require them to win either this one or at SMU in late November."Bill Connelly
Miami at SMU
"Miami has three games on this list within a month of each other. Because Clemson's projections are so favorable, Miami might be the most important team in the title race -- if the Canes don't make it to Charlotte for the league title game, they will have a huge role to play in who does."Bill Connelly
