The buzz continues to grow that for the second time in program history, a Miami Hurricanes quarterback is going to go No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft. This time around, Cam Ward is hopeful that the Tennessee Titans will send his name in first.

People continue to debate whether or not Ward or Shedeur Sanders is the best available signal-caller for the 2025 class, but we don't think it's particularly close. Ward put up historic numbers for Miami in 2024 and the honors continue roll in for him.

On Wednesday, ESPN came out with its 2024 college football All-America team. As you might have been able to guess, Ward was the pick at quarterback as the First-Team signal-caller. Dillon Gabriel was named to the Second-Team.

"Ward made the most of his one season at Miami after transferring from Washington State," ESPN's Chris Low said. "A Heisman Trophy finalist, he tied for the FBS lead by accounting for 44 touchdowns (39 passing, 4 rushing and 1 receiving) on the ACC's No. 1 offense and threw just seven interceptions in 454 pass attempts. Ward, who started his career in the FCS ranks at Incarnate Word, had 10 games with at least 300 passing yards and set a Miami record with 4,313 passing yards."

What Ward was able to get done with the Canes in '24 was straight out of a movie. He set a new program record with 4,313 passing yards, while adding 44 total TDs. He was easily one of the most electric players in all of college football. If it wasn't for Travis Hunter, you could make the argument that Ward would have gone home with the Heisman Trophy.

Looking ahead to late April, plenty of analysts have Ward projected to be the top pick. He has proven to be a magician with the ball in his hands and the Titans are in need of a franchise quarterback to try and get the AFC South side back on the right track.

Ward wasted no time become a fan favorite in south Florida and that's surely going to be the case wherever he heads next. Ward has all of the talent in the world and he was a ton of fun to watch for Canes fans, who will also be ready to follow his pro career moving forward.
