With the 2026 NFL Draft ending on Saturday, the hopes of an NFL career are not over for the Miami players who did not hear their names called. The Hurricanes had nine players selected, their most since 2017, but several more former Canes will still get a shot to make an NFL roster as undrafted free agents or rookie minicamp invites. These are the Miami players who will be starting their pro careers with something to prove:Â
James Brockermeyer, C: Atlanta Falcons
Brockermeyer signed with the Atlanta Falcons after one season as Miami's starting center. He began his career at Alabama, played at TCU and then helped anchor the Hurricanes' offensive line in 2025. Brockermeyer played 1,882 offensive snaps in college and put together his best pass-protection season with Miami, finishing with an 86.4 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus while allowing 12 pressures and no sacks.
Wesley Bissainthe, LB: Kansas City Chiefs
Bissainthe signed with the Kansas City Chiefs after four seasons at Miami. He played 1,977 defensive snaps with the Hurricanes and totaled 204 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and two interceptions in his college career. Bissainthe's final season was his most productive, with 71 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack and one interception in 2025.
Keelan Marion, WR/KR: Atlanta Falcons
Marion joined Brockermeyer in Atlanta, giving the Falcons another former Hurricane with a chance to earn a roster spot. Marion transferred to Miami for the 2025 season. He ranked second on the team with 57 receptions and 746 receiving yards, added two touchdown catches and averaged 24.4 yards per kickoff return. He also finished third on the team with 1,064 all-purpose yards. Marion was an All-American kick returner in 2024 before arriving at Miami.Â
David Blay Jr., DT: New England Patriots
Blay signed with the New England Patriots after one season at Miami and a long path through college football. He began at West Chester, broke out at Louisiana Tech and then became part of the Hurricanes' defensive tackle rotation in 2025. Blay was an All-ACC honorable mention pick in his lone Miami season, and at Louisiana Tech he had 46 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.
Received Minicamp Invites
A handful of former Miami players will have a chance to earn a longer look through rookie minicamp invites. Teams can bring players in for a tryout before deciding whether to sign them to the 90-man roster.
Carter Davis, K: Kansas City Chiefs
Davis earned a rookie minicamp invite from the Chiefs after handling Miami’s kicking duties in 2025. Davis went 17 of 24 on field goals with the Hurricanes and was perfect on extra points. At FAU he produced 109 touchbacks over three seasons before transferring to Miami.
