Familiar story of Carson Beck blaming everyone but himself unraveling in Miami

Carson Beck hasn't learned how to take some of the blame for himself in a loss yet, and it is becoming a problem.

Miami fans are starting to understand why Georgia fans were okay with letting quarterback Carson Beck go. After leaving the state of Florida for the first time this season, the Hurricanes returned with it's second loss in three weeks, and Beck didn't play great in either loss.

When the Hurricanes lost their first game of the season against Louisville, Beck was on the hook for four interceptions during the game, but instead of taking responsibility after, he chose to blame his receiver for the game-sealing pick. There seems to be a pattern forming now, as in his post-game press conference, Beck threw his offensive coordinator, Shannon Dawson, under the bus for play calls.

"They ran the same thing the whole time," Beck said. "I just execute the play that is called."

It is bad enough to throw a teammate under the bus, but to throw a coach under the bus for play calling, when in turn Beck was not executing what was called, is even worse. Beck went on to elaborate that if he saw something and could change it, he would, but ultimately he executed the plays that were called.

In the 26-20 overtime loss to SMU on Saturday, Beck threw for 274 yards and two touchdowns, but also had two interceptions, one in overtime that gave the ball to the Mustangs for a chance to score and end it.

This is not a good pattern to see that Beck continues not to take responsibility for the loss at all. For one thing, that won't look good to his team, but it also won't look good to NFL teams when the Combine and Draft come around.

In a loss like this one, everyone has faults, and especially with Beck having two key interceptions in the game, he can't use the line that he is executing the plays. Maybe take the time to talk to the coordinator about what you are seeing on the field. Take the initiative and try to get it fixed instead of simply planning everyone around you.
