This is a moment Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward is never going to forget. On Thursday night, his dreams came true, with the Tennessee Titans selecting him with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. A bright future is on the way for him in the AFC South.
As excited as people are for Ward and his future, there are also many out there who aren't too happy with Mel Kiper Jr. With the Titans on the clock and the Ward pick about to be announced, rather than focus on the Miami star, Kiper went on and on about Shedeur Sanders and why the Colorado QB also has a ton of potential.
We get it, Kiper has been high on Sanders for quite some time. While Kiper did say that Ward is a great pick and he's also a superstar, why in the world did he spend so much time praising Sanders and only talking about Ward for a fraction of the time he was about Shedeur? It made no sense.

We don't want to bash Kiper too much, but this really wasn't a good look for him. As you might have been able to guess, plenty of Ward's fans were pretty darn upset with him as this happened, taking out their anger on Kiper on social media:

There are plenty of other tweets echoing the above statements. We really didn't get it. Why did Kiper feel the need to hype up Sanders so much to start the draft? Also, why in the heck did ESPN show so many Sanders highlights instead of focusing on Ward?
No disrespect to Sanders, but this was fully Ward's moment and there was no reason to take any of the spotlight off of him. At the end of the day, Ward won't care too much about this and he'll be more focused on being a total stud for the Titans. He's got a bright future ahead of him and Tennessee supporters in Nashville can't wait to see him do his thing this fall.
