Normally, for NFL rookies, they are the ones getting pranked, not the ones doing the pranks, but for former Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa, he is choosing to change things up a little. Mauigoa was drafted by the New York Giants with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, coming in to help protect now second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Well, hopefully Mauigoa made a good first impression on Dart because now he may be in the dog house with his new QB. In a recent video via Mauigoa on Instagram, the rookie offensive lineman is seen gifting Dart a jersey, and it just so happened to be a custom Jaxson Dart Miami Fiesta Bowl jersey.
Now, for anyone who doesn't know, Miami took down Ole Miss in the 2026 Fiesta Bowl in the College Football Playoff, Dart's Alma Mater. Dart quickly threw the jersey down and stormed off as Mauigoa can be heard laughing in the background.

This is some classic locker room antics, but again, normally the rookies are the ones getting pranked, not the ones doing the pranking. Now, this could come back to bite Mauigoa, but clearly, the temptation of it all was too great not to do it.
Francis Mauigoa tasted with a job job in his rookie NFL season
The former Hurricane is going from the sunny beaches of Florida to the frigid cold winters of New York, but his mind isn't on the climate, but his new job protecting quarterback Jaxson Dart. The New York Giants have had some bad luck lately with quarterbacks, but feel that Dart could finally be the answer they are looking for, and he needs to be protected in the pocket.
Last season, the Giants had the No. 9 offensive line in the country, according to Pro Football Focus, which isn't bad, but they did lose interior offensive lineman Austin Schlottman and offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo when new head coach John Harbaugh came in.
The retention in the trenches was good for the Giants, but Mauigoa will bring another added layer to an already pretty good offensive line. The offense is going to be the focal point for the Giants this upcoming season, seeing how Dart does in year two, along with the return of wide receiver Malik Nabers and potentially running back Cam Skattebo.
Mauigoa will have a tough task in his rookie season protecting Dart, but Miami had a great offensive line in 2026 that helped protect quarterback Carson Beck all the way to the National Championship game.
