Miami rallied from a 2-1 deficit with a nine-run fifth inning in earning a 13-8 win over Louisville on Thursday night in Coral Gables. The game turned after Louisville pitcher Wyatt Danilowicz had to leave after allowing a one-out single to Gabriel Milano in the fifth.

Danilowicz had a neck injury or cramps, as speculated on the Miami game broadcast by Hurricanes' play-by-play announcer Joe Zagacki and analyst Wicho Hernandez. After Danilowicz left the game, nine consecutive Miami batters reached base.

Miami scored nine runs on six hits and four walks in the fifth inning. Milano finished the fifth inning with two singles, a run scored and a run batted in. Miami sent 13 batters to the plate in the fifth inning. Louisville answered with two runs in the top of the sixth to cut their deficit to 10-4.

Miami scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh and had the bases loaded with two outs. Brylan West lined out to left field with Miami one base runner away from a run-rule victory. A Ben Slanker grand slam in the top of the eighth inning made it 13-8 Miami.

Louisville took the lead in the top of the first inning on a double by Griffin Crain to drive in Tague Davis and Jimmy Nugent. A Max Galvin ground out to second base in the bottom of the first inning cut the Miami deficit to 2-1. Danilowicz retired seven consecutive batters after allowing a leadoff triple to Jake Ogden.

Vance Sheehan popped out for the last of the seven consecutive outs by Danilowicz before Milano's single. After Danilowicz exited the game, Louisville head coach Dan McDonnell made two more pitching changes in the fifth inning. All of the Louisville pitchers allowed multiple runs in the fifth inning.

Milano had his best game of the season with three hits, two runs scored and an RBI as he continues to start at third base, replacing the injured Daniel Cuvet. Rob Evans pitched six innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits and one walk with eight strikeouts to improve to 9-3.
