NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that Miami wide receiver Jacolby George is signing with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent. George is set to receive a sizable guaranteed amount, comparable to what a sixth-round draft pick would typically earn.
"Former Miami WR Jacolby George is signing with the #Panthers on a deal that includes $215,000 guaranteed, per source," Pelissero shared on X. "That's a larger guarantee than he would've received had he been selected in the sixth round."

George spent his entire college career at Miami. His best year came during his junior season, when he posted 57 catches for 864 yards and eight touchdowns. He maintained strong production in 2024, hauling in 53 receptions for 752 yards and another eight scores, working alongside No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward.
The Panthers made a major investment at wide receiver during the draft, selecting Arizona pass-catcher Tetairoa McMillan with the No. 8 overall pick to provide quarterback Bryce Young with a new top target. McMillan is expected to play a major role in Carolina's offense moving forward but there is room for George to make the 53-man roster. With wide receiver remaining a need, George’s proven production against high-level college competition gives him a real shot to make an impact as an undrafted rookie.
Miami football alumni were busy on Day 3 of the NFL Draft. Running back Damien Martinez, OL Jalen Rivers, linebacker Francisco Mauigoa, edge rusher Tyler Baron and kicker Andy Borregales all heard their names called on Saturday. Baron and Mauigoa are now teammates on the New York Jets.
Multiple Hurricanes also were able to sign UDFA contracts once the draft concluded, such as WR Xavier Restrepo with the Titans, Safety Meesh Powell with the Minnesota Vikings, and DL Simeon Barrow with the Atlanta Falcons.
