The New York Jets have invested heavily into two former Miami players, linebacker Francisco Mauigoa and edge rusher, Tyler Baron. Mauigoa was drafted in the fifth round with the No. 162 overall pick and Baron was selected in the fifth round with the 176th overall pick. Tight end Mason Taylor, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer and current Miami defensive line coach Jason Taylor, was also selected by the Jets. Taylor was drafted in the second round as the 42nd overall pick.

Francisco Mauigoa

Francisco "Kiko" Mauigoa is a 6'2", 233-pound linebacker known for his physicality and leadership. In Mauigoa's last season with Miami he recorded 96 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and an interception. While he may need to refine certain aspects of his game, such as pass coverage, his instincts and special teams potential are notable. His brother, Francis Mauigoa, is an offensive tackle that projects to be a first round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Tyler Baron

In 2024, Baron had 11 tackles for loss, 5.5 sack, 38 tackles (fourth on the team), and 18 solo tackles. He had with six quarterback hurries and one forced fumble as well. Prior to his time in Miami, Baron played at the University of Tennessee from 2020 to 2023. In the four years there, he recorded 101 total tackles and 13.5 sacks. 2023 was a big season for Baron as he logged 10.5 tackles for loss and six sacks.

Mason Taylor

Taylor is a 6'5", 251-pound tight end from LSU. He carved his own path at LSU, setting school records for tight ends with 129 receptions and 1,308 receiving yards. His capability as both a blocker and receiver impressed teams during the draft process and he has the potential to be an immediate contributor. The Jets had Taylor rated higher on their board than Miami TE Elijah Arroyo who was taken eight selections later.
