Miami just did something they have not done since 1989: register back to back 100+ point wins. Jai Lucas and the Miami Hurricanes have looked dominant so far this season as they trample Stetson on Monday night, 102-61. The Hurricanes had five guys in double figures and were led by Malik Reneau who put up 22 points and 10 rebounds. Reneau has been the leading scoring for Miami through the first three games.
Freshman Shelton Henderson added 15 points, Tru Washington logged 17 points and six boards, Timotej Malovec had 12 points, and Tre Donaldson posted 15 points, 10 assists and five rebounds off the bench.

Miami dominated on the glass, winning the rebound battle, 45-31. The Canes shot 56.1% from the floor, 34.8% from three and won the turnover margin, 17-12. After an initial struggle to put the ball in the basket — Miami had just 15 points in the first 10 minutes of action — the Hurricanes never looked back.
Stetson was led by Ethan Copeland and J.R. Leonard with 12 and 11 points, respectively. The Hatters move to 1-2 on the season with the loss.
Miami in the first two games of the season
Game 1 (Nov. 3): Miami 86, Jacksonville 69: Reneau led with 20 points, Henderson added 15 points, Ernest Udeh Jr. posted 14 points and 14 boards in Lucas' head coaching debut. The Canes shot 55% and dominated the glass 35-20.
Game 2 (Nov. 6): Miami 101, Bethune-Cookman 61: Donaldson poured in 23 points while Reneau posted a 22 point, six rebound and five assist performance. Miami shot 59% from the floor and pulled away with a 50-31 halftime lead. Udeh led the team with 10 rebounds.
What's next for Miami?
In the offseason when Lucas was hired, he mentioned how he would need to gather a team of all new players. In doing so, Miami would have a quick turnaround to build culture and continuity for a successful 2025-26 season. But, by all accounts, the team looks very promising in its 3-0 start.
The real tests are about to begin for Miami. Up next is a matchup against No. 10 Florida on Sunday. Then, the Hurricanes get Elon and Delaware State before a game against No. 7 BYU.
