Miami freshman guard Dante Allen drew a major endorsement from college basketball insider Jon Rothstein on Thursday: "Dante Allen. Buy Stock Now." The one-liner post on X added an early jolt of national attention to the Hurricanes' top-50 newcomer as the 2025-26 season gets underway.

Allen arrived with pedigree and projects to be one of the main focal points in Jai Lucas' first year as the head coach of the Miami Hurricanes. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound combo guard signed with Miami in April after reopening his recruitment, choosing his hometown program following a senior season at national power Montverde Academy. Allen was the No. 64 prospect in the 2025 class per the 247Sports Composite, and ESPN rated him No. 41 in the ESPN 100. He played two seasons at Miami's Riviera Prep before transferring to Montverde, winning across multiple levels along the way.

After a quiet college debut in Monday's season opener against Jacksonville, Allen stuffed the stat sheet in Thursday's 101-61 win over Bethune-Cookman, finishing with 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists as Miami moved to 2-0. He got his first career bucket and first made three during the contest. Through two games, Allen is averaging six points, four rebounds and three assists.

Rothstein's comments come as Miami's revamped rotation appears to be working. The Hurricanes opened with an 86-69 win over Jacksonville behind frontcourt standouts Malik Reneau and Ernest Udeh Jr., then showcased deeper balance in game two with contributions across the lineup. For a freshman guard settling into a backcourt featuring veteran transfers Tre Donaldson and Tru Washington, early minutes are very promising for him personally, as well as for the team goals late in the season.

It is still just the season's first week, and Miami has only played Jacksonville and Bethune-Cookman, but now is the time to buy. With big non-conference tests on the horizon such as Florida and BYU, the college basketball world will have a better idea of what the Hurricanes are capable of very soon. But, regardless of the outcome from those matchups, the ceiling looks to be far greater than it was last year for Canes basketball, and with Allen included.
