Rose was a top-75 national recruit coming out of high school and represented the USA on the U16 National Team, securing a gold medal at the 2009 FIBA Americas U16 Championship in Argentina.
He began his college career at Baylor, gaining initial experience at the collegiate level. Rose then transferred to Houston where he became a key contributor, averaging 9.0 points, 5.3 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game. In the 2013–14 season, he led the American Athletic Conference with 5.5 assists per game. As a graduate transfer, Rose took his talents to BYU where he started all 25 games, averaging 5.5 points and 4.7 assists per game.
After a season at BYU, he played in the G-League for the Salt Lake City Stars and then continued his basketball playing career overseas. Rose then transitioned into jobs away from the court. In 2021, he became a scout for the Houston Rockets and spent four years there. In June 2022, he joined the Bahamas National Basketball Team as the Director of Operations and was later promoted to General Manager.
As Director of Player Personnel, Rose will be instrumental in various aspects of the program such as recruiting, player development and different administrative duties. Rose should be able to help Coach Lucas turn things around for Miami. Over the past two seasons the Hurricanes have compiled a 22-41 record and last season they posted one of their worst in program history going 7-24.
