Miami finished 24th in the final Associated Press Top 25 and 22nd in the USA Coaches polls that were released on Tuesday. The final rankings for Miami capped off an exceptional season with 26 wins and nine losses. Miami set a program record with 24 regular-season wins.
Miami received 89 points in the AP Top 25. Louisville, who split two games with Miami in 2025-26, finished one spot ahead of the Hurricanes in the AP Top 25 with 150 points. Wisconsin completed the top 25 with 70 points. Miami lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to Purdue.
Miami beat Missouri in St. Louis during the first round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament. In the USA Today Coaches Poll, Miami received 94 points. Texas Tech is one spot ahead of Miami in 22nd with 168 points in the USA Today Coaches poll. Louisville finished one spot behind Miami in the USA Coaches poll in 23rd with 70 points.
Miami moved up one spot in both polls from the final rankings of the regular season entering the NCAA Tournament. The Hurricanes were ranked as high as 22nd in the AP Top 25 during the 2025-26 season. The AP Top 25 has conducted a post NCAA Tournament poll for only the last three seasons.

Miami reached its highest AP Top 25 poll ranking during the 2025-26 season since the Hurricanes were 15th on December 4, 2023. The Hurricanes were not ranked until March 2 during the 2025-26 season, when they had 23 wins and six losses.
Miami seemed to get close to a ranking throughout the season. After finishing the 2024-25 season with seven wins and 24 losses, Miami had to reestablish itself as a program worthy of being ranked. Lucas has Miami back on the right track. Miami will contend to be ranked in the preseason in 2026-27.
