Former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston weighed in on the Seminoles' 43-35 double-OT loss to Miami, criticizing the officiating with a pointed remark.

Trailing 43-35 in the second overtime, Florida State quarterback Ashton Daniels connected with Micahi Danzy on a 36-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-21. Officials flagged left tackle Xavier Chaplin for holding, wiping out the score and forcing the Seminoles to attempt another long pass.
On the next play, Daniels' Hail Mary was ruled an interception by Miami defensive back Bryce Fitzgerald after he and FSU receiver Duce Robinson went to the ground with the ball, a call that stood after review.
Florida State coach Mike Norvell has been vocal about the plays, calling the holding penalty "an absolute joke" and said he contacted ACC supervisor of officials Gary Patterson about both the penalty and the final interception, arguing that simultaneous possession should have been part of the review discussion.
Norvell also noted that a similar situation earlier in the game was not flagged and expressed disappointment that his players did not get a chance to finish the game on the field.
Winston, who led Florida State to a 26-1 record as a starter, a Heisman Trophy and a national championship in 2013 before becoming a first-round NFL draft pick, has occasionally commented on the program since leaving campus.
But his recent comments should fire up the Hurricanes as they welcome in Pitt on Saturday. Miami is ranked No. 1 in the AP poll, but with the way that former players and Pitt have been talking this week, you would have never guessed it. The matchup provides Miami with a chance to show the college football world why they are the top-ranked team in the nation.
