Jordan Lyle is suited and ready to go for the Miami Hurricanes, but will Mario Cristobal and Shannon Dawson let him see the field against Wake Forest?
Lyle is not on any availability reports and with his legal matters in the rear-view mirror, there's a chance for the junior running back to play. The rotation starts with Mark Fletcher Jr. and will include Char'Mar Brown in various situations. After that we'll see.

Jordan Lyle will have to prove himself all over again
Lyle has been the talk of the Miami running back room for a couple of seasons now and there's been a lot of anticipation to see what he can, but through injuries and off-field mistakes, none of it has come to fruition.
He was the Week 1 starter last year against Notre Dame, but suffered a high-ankle sprain that nagged him all season and kept him from reaching full form. Meanwhile, Fletcher took over the spot and had nearly 1,200 yards in helping the Hurricanes reach the CFP Championship Game. Brown proved himself as a back for all situations and even Girard Pringle made the most of some opportunities when Fletcher was dealing with some ailments.
Lyle, however, had a great spring and fall camp to put himself back in position to take on a major role in the backfield before he was arrested by the Sunrise police and charged with fleeing and eluding at high speed and reckless driving. The more serious fleeing charges were recently dropped, clearing a path for Lyle's return.
But over the past two weeks, true freshman Javian Mallory has emerged as a future star and should be in line for more work. Cristobal was very complimentary of Mallory during his press conference to begin the week.
"There was never any flinch in his game. He's very intelligent and he's very invested. It means a lot to him. He has a mature mentality and I think it's shown since the day he got here," Cristobal said on Monday.
Lyle might be ready to go, but there might not be a football carry for him. That's the way things go in Miami these days. There's so much competition on the roster that one can not afford to miss time because the spot they once held will be taken.
Before the season started, Lyle promised he was going to take back what was his this season, but it feels farther away than ever. If Lyle can get on the field against Wake Forest, that would be the first step to fulfilling his promise. But he has a long way to go.
