Notorious for trolling, former Mississippi head coach Lane Kiffin commented on the $4.3 million Miami paid quarterback Carson Beck during the 2025 Transfer Portal cycle. Kiffin followed up his question with another asking if "they" watched the game against "us."
The game Kiffin was referring to was a 28-10 Mississippi win over Georgia in 2024 with Beck at QB. What Kiffin failed to mention was the 52-17 win Beck led Georgia to over Mississippi during the 2023 season.
Beck completed 20 passes in 31 attempts for 186 yards, no touchdowns and one interception and was sacked five times in the 28-10, 2023 loss. Beck had eight carries for a loss of 20 yards, which includes sacks, against Mississippi in 2024.
Georgia finished the 2024 season with 11 wins and three losses after being eliminated by Notre Dame 23-10 in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal in the Sugar Bowl. The Bulldogs finished the 2024 season as the SEC Champion and ranked sixth in the Associated Press Top 25.
