With Carson Beck's eligibility coming to an end, Miami will likely be in the market for the quarterback this offseason. One of the names that's been mentioned is South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers.
The 6-foot-3, 240-pound athlete was expected to be one of the top quarterbacks in the country next year and possibly a first-round pick in the NFL Draft, but the redshirt sophomore struggled to get on the same page with now-former Gamecocks offensive coordinator Mike Shula.
Now Sellers might be looking for a chance of scenery.
I asked LaNorris Sellers if he was staying with @GamecockFB next year:

Sellers isn't ready to make a decision
The Gamecocks quarterback was asked about his future plans after South Carolina's 28-14 loss to Clemson, and he was non-committal on his future.
"When the time comes to make a decision, I'll make a decision. Whatever is best for me," Sellers said.
South Carolina coach Shane Beamer was also asked about Sellers and did not offer a clear answer either way.
"You're going to have to ask LaNorris that. I'm focused on today's game. I'm not going to dissect or give you an analysis on what the 2026 roster is going to look like," Beamer said.
The case for Sellers in Miami
It's obvious that Sellers was not as good as expected this season. He threw for 2,534 yards and 18 touchdowns as a redshirt freshman while adding 674 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. Those numbers dropped across the board as a sophomore as the expectations for him and the Gamecocks were raised. Sellers threw for over 2,000 yards again, but his completion percentage dropped from 65.6 to 61.8, and he rushed for only 268 yards and five touchdowns.

The Hurricanes have already had success with a similar style of quarterback, Cam Ward, who was an athletic passer. Sellers doesn't have Ward's accuracy as a passer, but he is more explosive as a runner and can extend plays with his legs. Pairing Sellers with Malachi Toney could give the Miami one of the most dynamic duos in the country.
Expect a decision from Sellers in the upcoming weeks. South Carolina is not bowl eligible and the transfer portal opens on January 2.
