Mario Cristobal has nearly cemented the Miami Hurricanes as a transfer portal quarterback program.
What does that mean? Well, since taking over the Canes' football team in 2022, Cristobal has brought in two quarterbacks from the portal who immediately became the starting QB for Miami: Cam Ward, who came from Washington State, and Carson Beck, who came from Georgia.
As Ward and Beck both ran out of eligibility while playing for the Canes, it left Miami in search of a new starting quarterback.
The obvious place for Cristobal and his staff to search? None other than the very transfer portal that Beck and Ward came from.
This year, the gamble of repeatedly relying on the portal to find the Hurricanes' offensive leader is about to pay off... big time.
Miami has its pick of the crop for quarterback
Over the last few weeks, quarterback after quarterback after quarterback (I could keep going) has announced that they plan on entering the transfer portal once it opens during the first week of the New Year.
From Nebraska's Dylan Raiola to Cincinnati's Brendan Sorsby, and most recently, TCU's Josh Hoover and Missouri's Beau Pribula, it seems like the Hurricanes could have a few starting quarterbacks to pick from when they decide to start their search.

Of course, with a shortened transfer portal window, players only have 15 days to enter their names, but teams can reach out to those players as soon as they've officially submitted the paperwork.
As of now, there are more than 50 quarterbacks from FBS programs who have announced their intent to leave their current teams. Some of the more highly coveted QBs include Raiola, Hoover, Florida's DJ Lagway, and Sorsby.
