There was never a doubt, right? On Thursday night, the Tennessee Titans made things official to start the NFL Draft off, taking Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick. Ward is the best QB talent for his class, end of discussion.
However, Mel Kiper Jr. seemed to be livid throughout the night that Shedeur Sanders slipped - he ended up not going drafted at all in the first round. You know who else was mad about Sanders taking a tumble in the draft? The one and only Skip Bayless.
Bayless is known for delivering some of the worst takes out there, but he somehow managed to outdo himself. Per Bayless, the Titans are always going to regret not taking Sanders with the No. 1 pick. In his eyes, Sanders should have heard his name called first over Ward. Is this guy serious?
THE TENNESSEE TITANS WILL FOREVER REGRET NOT TAKING SHEDEUR SANDERS.

Skip Bayless was furious the Titans chose Cam Ward over Shedeur Sanders
Give us a break. Bayless continued to cry on social media with no one jumping at the chance to select Sanders. At the end of the day, teams across the league just didn't think he was worthy of a first-round selection. Per Bayless, however, he should have heard his name called first?
It was never going to happen. There was some speculation that the Giants would potentially take him at No. 3, but Joe Schoen rocked with Penn State pass-rusher Abdul Carter instead. NY ended up trading back into the first round at pick No. 25, but the G-Men selected QB Jaxson Dart over Sanders.
This just goes to show that teams weren't as high on Sanders as a lot of us thought. Ward on the other hand is being viewed as a future superstar in this league, with his ability to extend plays being something Tennessee fans can't wait to see in person.
Ward was electric for Miami and also for Washington State in 2022 and 2023. He's got a bright future ahead of him and the same can be said for Sanders, but he simply had no business being in the No. 1 pick conversation at all. Bayless can moan all he wants, but the Titans 100 percent made the right call with Ward.
