Miami vs. Florida State. Tallahassee vs. Miami. Hurricanes vs. Seminoles. North Florida vs. South Florida.
Miami is set to take on Florida State on Friday in what is one of the biggest anticipated matchups this season, and one of the most anticipated matches in this rivalry in a long time. Both teams are not just ranked, but ranked in the top 10, with the Hurricanes at No. 2 and the Seminoles at No. 8. If this game were on Saturday, it would have for sure been the site for ESPN College Gameday.
Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal knows the intensity of this rivalry and is ready for it to be on center stage yet again. Cristobal even went as far as saying this is one of the biggest rivalries in the country in his book, and that is coming from a coach who coached at both Alabama and Oregon.
"For me, it was always Miami-Florida State, it was always Miami-Florida, Miami Notre Dame," Cristobal said in an interview with On3's J.D. PicKell. "It's awesome knowing that we are blessed with the opportunity to go and compete in these matchups."

Well, the good news for Miami is that the Hurricanes have already secured wins against two of the teams Cristobal talked about. In Week 1, Miami was able to take down Notre Dame 27-24, and just last week, the Hurricanes were able to fend off the Gators for a 26-7 win.
Now it is time to take on the Seminoles in what is going to be a Friday night spotlight game for both of these teams. As the top two teams in the ACC, this will almost certainly set the tone for the rest of conference play and might even determine the early winner of the conference.
Florida State is looking head and shoulders above what they did last season, and Miami is proving they were more than just Cam Ward last season. This is the game many have been waiting for, and now it's time to see who will come out on top.
