Five-star EDGE Jaiden Bryant has flipped his commitment from LSU to Miami. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound pass rusher from Irmo High School in Columbia, South Carolina, had been committed to the Tigers since January, but Miami kept pushing through the spring and closed after getting him on campus for an official visit.

Bryant is also shutting down his recruitment and will not take any more official visits.

Miami lands one of the country's best edge defenders

Bryant is a five-star prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking, sitting as the No. 29 overall player, No. 4 EDGE and No. 1 player in South Carolina in the 2027 class. 247Sports ranks him No. 19 overall, No. 4 at EDGE and No. 1 in South Carolina.

Bryant finished his junior season with 79 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, six fumble recoveries and one interception while helping Irmo reach the South Carolina Class 5A Division II title game. He also had 18.5 sacks as a sophomore.

Bryant was not an easy flip, but Miami never treated the commitment like the end of the story.

The Hurricanes brought Bryant in for an official visit during one of their biggest recruiting weekends of the summer. That visit put him around Miami's staff, players and other priority recruits.

LSU had already taken a Miami commit earlier in the 2027 cycle when four-star wide receiver Ah'Mari Stevens flipped from the Hurricanes to the Tigers in April.

The Rivals Industry team rankings have Miami at No. 3 nationally and No. 1 in the ACC. The expectation is that the Hurricanes should be able to rise to No. 1 or No. 2.

Bryant joins a class already led by five-star cornerback Donte Wright, five-star wide receiver Nick Lennear, quarterback Israel Abrams, cornerback Ai'King Hall, linebacker A.J. Randle Jr., interior offensive lineman Jatori Williams and several other blue-chip pieces.
