Miami head coach Mario Cristobal praised the upside of freshman wide receiver Milan Parris after the Hurricanes' spring game on Saturday. Parris is the biggest WR on the Miami roster at 6'5 and has increased his weight to 220 pounds, up from 190 as listed on the Hurricanes' official roster.
David Lake of Inside the U observed, "Parris flashed as a big bodied receiver who brings a lot of physicality to the field." Freshman Tyran Evans and rising sophomore Joshua Moore, both 6'4, are the only other WRs on the Miami roster taller than 6'2.
Parris' size and catch radius will provide him with an opportunity for meaningful snaps in 2026. Moore was injured in the Spring Game and did not return. Parris was the third-ranked signee in the 2026 Miami class and the second WR behind Somorian Wingo.
The 247Sports composite rankings have Parris 111th overall, the 17th-best WR and fourth-ranked player in Ohio out of Walsh Jesuit in Cuyahoga Falls in the 2026 class. Parris had 50 receptions for 865 yards and 12 touchdowns with two kick return scores and one passing.
"He has a really good feel for the game and...he's adapted to the offense fairly well. We've been working on that body. He's filling out really, really well. He's also almost 220 pounds...Guys...who work really hard to accelerate their maturity...He's come a long way to be part of the Miami Hurricane tradition...He's got a tremendous upside...He's limitless, but we need to hammer a bunch of things to make him better. He knows that...He can bank on us getting after him all season."Miami head coach Mario Cristobal
Breakout senior season
Parris had a breakout senior season after he had 28 receptions for 597 yards and nine TDs as a junior at Walsh Jesuit. In addition to his size, 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins praised Parris' ability to secure contested catches and reported he has run a 4.54 40-yard dash.
Parris is also a willing blocker per Ivins. The complete game Parris has will provide him with an opportunity to earn significant snaps as a freshman. Cristobal has frequently played freshmen during his four seasons as the Miami head coach.
Parris could become the latest Miami signee to surpass his recruiting ranking as a freshman. Malachi Toney led the nation with 109 receptions as a true freshman in 2025. At the very least, Parris will become a player to watch for Miami as a potential red zone target for quarterback Darian Mensah.
