The 2025 Miami Hurricanes transfer class moved into the Top 10 with a commitment from Georgia quarterback Carson Beck on Friday. Miami moved up to the No. 9 transfer class nationally after receiving the commitment from Beck. The 10 transfers committed to Miami for 2025 is the smallest class among Top 10 programs.
By gaining a commitment from Beck, Miami has the top transfer for the second consecutive season. Cam Ward is projected to go from being the top player in the 2024 transfer portal to the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Beck is one of six four-star transfers Miami has added for 2025.
Beck and former LSU wide receiver C.J. Daniels are the only incoming transfers to Miami on offense. Cornerbacks Charles Brantley and Emmanuel Karnley, defensive tackle David Blay and safety Zechariah Poyser are the other four-star transfers Miami has added for 2025.
Mario Cristobal and his staff targeted the positions of need and went out and received commitments from those transfers. Beck and Daniels are critical for Miami entering 2025 at mostly unproven positions. Brantley, Karnley, Washington State transfer CB Ethan O'Connor and Poyser significantly upgraded a secondary that was subpar in 2024.
Miami landing Carson Beck was a massive recruiting win for Mario Cristobal
Miami is not finished in the transfer portal, but might not add anyone else until the spring portal opens in April. Leading rushing Damien Martinez, who finished with 1,002 yards in 2024, did not transfer to Miami until the spring. Expect WR, potentially linebacker and more defensive backs to be a focus for Miami in the spring portal.
Most of the transfers Miami has added for 2025 have a chance to start. All of them should be at least in the rotation - more than just players who add depth. The addition of Beck should help Miami attract more transfers like Ward did last season. The offseason is just beginning.
