Miami lands Indiana transfer Nick Dorn
Dorn wasn't highly ranked out of high school and began his college career at Elon.
Dorn earned Colonial Athletic Association All-Rookie honors as a freshman in 2023-24 after appearing in 30 games with 22 starts. He averaged 9.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 23.1 minutes per game while shooting 39.2% from the field, 36.4% from 3-point range and 75% from the free-throw line. He scored in double figures 14 times and made multiple 3-pointers in 15 games.
Dorn started all 25 games he played in 2024-25 and averaged 15.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 30.7 minutes per game. He shot 37.4% from the field, 37.4% from three and 80.5% at the line while making 74 three-pointers. He was one of six Division I men's players that season to average at least 15 points, make 70 three-pointers and make 90 free throws while playing fewer than 1,000 minutes.
Dorn's scoring numbers dropped at Indiana as he moved from being a featured scorer at Elon to a Big Ten rotation piece with the Hoosiers. But, the production is still promising.
He played 30 games, made 12 starts and averaged 23.2 minutes. He missed the first two games with a lower-body injury, then settled into a role as one of Indiana's main shooting threats. He made 60 three-pointers, averaged 2.0 made threes per game and scored in double figures 11 times.
Dorn scored 23 points at Rutgers, 18 against Purdue and a season-high 26 at UCLA. He also had 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting from three against Louisville and 14 points at Michigan.
