Seahawks defeat New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX
Running back Kenneth Walker III earned Super Bowl MVP after rushing for 135 yards on 27 carries, while the Seahawks' defense harassed Patriots quarterback Drake Maye all night, recording six sacks and forcing turnovers that helped put the game away. Kicker Jason Myers piled up five field goals, and quarterback Sam Darnold threw Seattle's first (and only offensive) touchdown pass of the night to tight end A.J. Barner in the fourth quarter. Darnold became the first starting QB to win a Super Bowl on his fifth team or later.
Arroyo was a major piece of Miami's offense during his final season, earning second-team All-ACC honors in 2024 and finishing with 35 catches, 590 yards and seven touchdowns. He closed strong and finished his Hurricanes career with 46 receptions for 753 yards and eight touchdowns before declaring for the draft.
Seattle liked the upside enough to take him with the 50th overall pick in the second round, and Arroyo found a role as a rookie behind Barner. Arroyo logged 15 catches for 179 yards and one touchdown in 13 games during the 2025 season.
Arroyo landed on injured reserve in December with a knee injury, then worked his way back during Seattle's playoff run. The Seahawks activated him off injured reserve ahead of the NFC championship game.
Seattle's win delivered the franchise's second Lombardi Trophy and gave the Seahawks a long-awaited measure of payback against a Patriots team that beat them in their last Super Bowl meeting more than a decade ago. The Seahawks won Super Bowl XLVIII against the Denver Broncos, 43-8.
