Georgia transfer Somto Cyril is set to visit the Miami Hurricanes on Friday. The Hurricanes are trying to replace ACC All-Defensive center Ernest Udeh, and Cyril is the kind of player who could step in as an immediate starting-caliber anchor down low.
Udeh was Miami's starting center in 2025-26 after arriving from TCU. He averaged 6.7 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game and shot 72.7% from the field.
Before Miami, Udeh played at Kansas as a freshman and TCU. He earned Honorable Mention All-Big 12 at TCU in 2024-25 after averaging 6.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks.
He was a 2022 McDonald’s All-American, and 247Sports ranked him as the No. 32 overall prospect, No. 7 center, and No. 7 player in Florida in his class.

Somto Cyril is a big transfer portal target
Cyril was one of the SEC's best defensive bigs this past season. The 6-foot-11 sophomore started 32 and averaged 9.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in only 21.2 minutes per game. He led the SEC and ranked No. 13 nationally in blocks per game, led the nation with 83 dunks, and set Georgia's single-season field goal percentage record at 75.9%. Cyril was also named to the SEC All-Defensive Team.
In 247Sports' 2026 transfer portal rankings, Cyril checked in at No. 19 overall. He projects to be the perfect replacement for Udeh and HC Jai Lucas will try his best to secure a commitment from Cyril.
As a freshman in 2024-25, he averaged 4.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 14.0 minutes per game. The improvement from year one to year two shows that there is some potential still left for Lucas to tap into.
Cyril was also a consensus four-star recruit in the 2024 class and he now enters the portal with two years of eligibility remaining.
