Miami is getting a spring look at one of the top edge rushers in the 2027 class. Four-star KJ Green has scheduled a trip to Coral Gables on April 3.

Four-star KJ Green has scheduled a visit to Miami on April 3

Green's Miami date is part of a nine-stop spring tour that also includes Texas (March 12), Notre Dame (March 21), Auburn (March 23), Alabama (March 26), Georgia (April 9), South Carolina (April 10), Oregon (April 17) and LSU (April 23). After the visits, Green is looking to commit in August.

The April 3 trip is a spring stop for Green. He also has an official visit to Miami set for the last weekend in May.

The 247Sports Composite ranks him No. 63 nationally, No. 5 in Georgia and No. 7 among edge rushers in the 2027 cycle. 247Sports' own ranking is even higher, listing him as the No. 10 player in the class of 2027 and the No. 3 EDGE. On3 gives him a 2027 industry rating of 93.77.

Green logged 129 total tackles, 18 sacks and four forced fumbles for the 2025-26 season. MaxPreps named him to its 2025 Junior All-America Team.

Hurricanes assistant Jason Taylor visited Green twice on the road, including one trip alongside Cristobal.

Miami should be in play for every EDGE in the country

Unless another program is truly the best fit for a young edge rusher, then Miami should be in every race until the very end.

With two DL projected to go in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft — Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor — the strong developmental reputation of Miami's past is starting to come back. The NFL is the ultimate goal for a player like Green, and the Hurricanes have the ability to send him to the league.
