Antijuan Wilkes Jr., a five-star offensive tackle from Detroit Cass Technical, showed off letters from Miami's staff on social media as the Hurricanes continue their push for one of the top linemen in the 2028 cycle. It is still extremely early, but the interest from Mario Cristobal and Alex Mirabal is something to watch.
Wilkes measures in at 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 28 overall player, No. 2 offensive tackle and No. 2 player in Michigan in the 2028 class. Rivals' industry rankings have Wilkes as the No. 6 overall prospect, No. 1 offensive tackle and No. 1 player in Michigan.

2028 5-star OT Antijuan Wilkes Jr. is feeling the love from Miami
Wilkes already has a long list of major offers, and his top 12 includes Miami, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Florida, LSU, Missouri, Tennessee, Oregon, Texas A&M and Alabama.
Wilkes is from Michigan, and On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Michigan as the early leader, with Michigan State also heavily involved. It will be tough to compete with the Wolverines if they can get the program back on track. That is Michigan's backyard, so it will be a difficult task for Cristobal and his staff.
Miami's 2028 class is still mostly empty, with quarterback Knox Annis as the early commitment. The Jacksonville prospect threw for 2,203 yards and 22 touchdowns as a sophomore while adding 330 rushing yards. It will be a while before we see how the Miami quarterback room shakes out, but regardless of who the head signal caller is, Miami will want the best protection possible.
Miami fans will also be able to point to a couple recent commitments as signs of hope for the Hurricanes. Miami signed Jackson Cantwell, a consensus five-star offensive tackle, in the last recruiting cycle. They'll try to do something similar in 2027 and 2028.
